Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer. It is slow-growing and rarely spreads, but early surgical removal is recommended to prevent local tissue damage. Excision under local anaesthetic is the standard treatment.

What to Expect
Before

During
- Local anaesthetic administered to the area
- BCC excised with appropriate surgical margins
- Wound closed with sutures
- Tissue sent for histological analysis (£195 if required)
- Procedure takes approximately 30–45 minutes
After
- Discharged same day with dressing and aftercare instructions
- Sutures removed at 7–14 days
- Histology results reviewed at follow-up
- Sun protection of the scar area recommended
