Nail removal is performed for ingrown toenails, nail infections, or other nail conditions that have not responded to conservative treatment. The procedure can be performed with or without ablation (destruction of the nail matrix to prevent regrowth).

During
- Local anaesthetic administered as a ring block
- Nail or portion of nail removed
- Ablation applied to the nail matrix if selected (prevents regrowth)
- Procedure takes approximately 20–30 minutes
After
- Discharged same day with dressing and aftercare instructions
- Keep foot elevated for the first 24 hours
- Dressing changes as instructed
- Return to normal footwear within 1–2 weeks
